Há»™i An, formerly known as Fai-Fo or Faifoo, is a city in central Vietnam's Quảng Nam Province. In 1999, Old Town Hoi An, the city’s historic district, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as a well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port of the 15th to 19th centuries, with buildings that display a blend of local and foreign influences. Prominent in the city's old town, is its covered "Japanese Bridge", built in the 16th-17th century.

Hoi An has a very quaint and charming appearance, especially the riverfront with its characteristic mustard walled houses and countless red lanterns everywhere. Evening walks by the riverside when the lanterns are all lit has an almost magical feel. Hoi An also boasts of a variety of local Vietnamese cuisine. .
